Pretty in Pink…

I sure hope I haven’t used that blog title already…great movie title though, don’t you think?

Isn’t this pretty? Not that big—the pink/black focal is a little over 1.25″ and the whole pendant is 3.5″.  Susan Sheehan made the gorgeous pink bead. I might have to make some earrings to go with it!

Last week was Earring Week and this week is turning into Pendant Week. Though I’m not nearly as prolific…something about not needing identical pairs with pendants! I have a large collection of interesting lampwork focal beads and decided to get them made into little works of art. It’s a nice way to use up the orphan pearls and silver beads, as well as to test out a look.

Most of the beadmakers I work with do special orders and will make matching beads if they have the glass available and the process is able to be duplicated. I try to make matching earrings for a bracelet or pendant/necklace if I think it will complement the look. And it is nice to be able to go back to a source and ask for additional beads if a customer is taken with a piece of jewelry and wants something to go with it. Everyone wins in those situations!
