It’s Ornament Thursday and this month’s theme is “Gratitude”.
From Webster’s Revised Unabridged Dictionary:
Gratitude
Grat”i*tude\, n. [F. gratitude, LL. gratitudo, from gratus agreeable, grateful. See Grate, a.] The state of being grateful; warm and friendly feeling toward a benefactor; kindness awakened by a favor received; thankfulness.
I should have a project but the month got away from me and rather than throw one together, I want to just acknowledge my own gratitude to those of you who regularly come to see what I’m up to in the world of Joolz, and finding nothing of consequence, still return another time.
I’m grateful for the chance to showcase projects with such talented participants in Ornament Thursday and to get to know these other women a little bit better each month from their blogs and projects.
The talents I have are not something I take lightly; and for that ability to take a pile of beads and turn them into little pieces of art which bring pleasure and happiness to others, I am especially grateful.
Think about who or what you are grateful for as we move into November and celebrating Thanksgiving here in the U.S. I found several quotes that do a better job of describing the feeling of gratitude:
“To educate yourself for the feeling of gratitude means to take nothing for granted, but to always seek out and value the kind that will stand behind the action. Nothing that is done for you is a matter of course. Everything originates in a will for the good, which is directed at you. Train yourself never to put off the word or action for the expression of gratitude.”
~ Albert Schweitzer ~
“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”
~ John Fitzgerald Kennedy ~
“Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.”
~ Marcel Proust ~
If you’ve made it this far, check out what the other Ornament Thursday gals think about Gratitude. I’ll add the links before I head to Tucson and will update them when I get back.
